Hi, I'm just about finished putting my Model B back together, unfortunately the process took 8 more months than I originally planned and I've forgotten a couple of things I was sure I could remember.
#1 Where does the spring for the folding top attach. I know the one end goes
to the bracket on the folding top but where does the other end attached ?
#2 I have four 2" bolts that fit thru a ferrule (hope you understand)
Here is what I have written down.." 4 bolts hold back on, 2 in center of folding top"
I'm not sure what this means !!!! Does it makes sense to any of you.
#3 The center hinge on the folding top has no where to attach. I think it is
there for looks because there are no holes drilled into my stove top. Maybe this was an oversight when it was manufactured ??
Thanks...I'm almost done

OK, I figured out #2 by process of elimination.
They go into the bottom of the backsplash and into the back edge of the cooktop.
But where does that dog gone spring attach ????
I'm not worried about the hinge because it obvious that it wasn't there when the stove was manufactured and I'm not about to drill and tap 2 holes.

Tom:
From a B owner: I understand your pain. Took a long time for me to figure it out, senza libra.
The other end of the spring attaches to the side of the pilot light's heat shield. You will see a small hole drilled into the side of this, on the aft side of the heat shield, behind the metal strap that drops down from the heat shield. The hole is where you hook the spring.
If I were digi camera savy I'd post a photo, but you are out of luck there.
BTW, do you own a manual?

Thanks, I'll look for that hole. I have a manual
but it doesn't mention anthing like this at all.
Its very good at some things and weak in other areas. Some diagrams are extensive and the others are non-existent.
